Competition Closing Date – Black & White

Entry to this competition will be open up to midnight Saturday 31st Oct 2026

For this competition, members are invited to submit black and white images that make the most of contrast, texture, and mood. With colour removed, the focus shifts to strong composition, interesting light, and the story within the frame.
Anything goes in terms of subject — for example – street scenes, architecture to portraits, nature, or abstract details.
This theme is ideal for experimenting with light and shadow, whether shooting specifically for black and white or converting from colour. It’s a great way to challenge ourselves to “see” differently and simplify a scene down to its essentials.
