Storytelling
For this competition, we’re looking for images that say something — photos that capture a moment, suggest a narrative, or make the viewer stop and wonder what’s going on.
It could be a candid street shot, a quiet moment in nature, a characterful portrait, a still life set up or even something abstract that sparks imagination. The story doesn’t have to be obvious — sometimes the strongest images are the ones that leave a bit to interpretation.
Think about timing, composition, and detail. What’s happening in the frame? What just happened, or what’s about to happen? A good storytelling image should draw the viewer in and hold their attention. Here are some ideas to get you thinking
A lone figure waiting at a bus stop on a rainy evening, a worker in the middle of a task, reflections in shop windows, or a moment of interaction between people or wildlife. Even small details — like an abandoned object or a weathered doorway — can suggest a bigger story.Judge will be Clive Watkins
